New subway station in motion at the Barclays Center
A new subway station is now open at the Barclays Center, connecting the arena and commuters to nine different lines.
The $76 million station is 4,700 square feet with a grand stairwell that leads to the entrance of the center. Developers say they hope everyone will take advantage of their mass transit options. Event-goers will have nine trains and 11 bus lines to choose from to get to the arena. Even so, some residents in the area say they're worried about increased traffic and congestion in their neighborhood.
The Barclays Center officially opens on Sept. 28 with a concert by Brooklyn's own Jay-Z.
