A Bed-Stuy barbershop is giving away free haircuts and school supplies to help needy students get a head start on getting back to school.
Shop owner Kwan Miller hopes the 'Shoot for the Stars and Not Your Brothers' event will help students focus on their grades and not on guns.
Miller said he decided to host the event after realizing how kids must overcome violence every day in order to make it to college.
