Police: Woman critical after father pours acid on her

Police say a woman is fighting for her life in the hospital tonight after her father allegedly threw acid on her.

The incident occurred Saturday at a East New York apartment building. A witness told News 12 Brooklyn that Darlene Lynch was running through the hallways at around 2 p.m., yelling that someone had poured acid on her.

Police say the 49-year-old's father, Jerome Lynch, lives in an apartment on the first floor. The victim came to visit her 69-year-old wheelchair-bound father often.

Witnesses say Lynch told them she had been sitting in the living room with her dad when he abruptly went to the bathroom. When the suspect came back, he poured liquid drain cleaner on her head.

Police say Lynch was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
