At least seven people died yesterday in New York as a result of Sandy. Gov. Andrew Cuomo's office attributed five deaths to the storm, including two young boys, who were killed when a tree struck a North Salem home. Two men also died in Westchester. Officials say a 56-year-old man died when a tree crashed into his home. Another man was killed when he hit a tree on the Sprain Brook Parkway and was ejected from the vehicle. John Miller, 39, of Loyd Harbor, was killed when a tree collapsed in his driveway at about 7:25 p.m. yesterday, Suffolk police say. Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano confirmed to News 12 that one person died in Roslyn after being struck by a falling tree.
