Brooklyn laces up for marathon day

Preparations are under way throughout the borough as runners get ready to lace up and hit the pavement for the ING New York City Marathon.

Signs marking the marathon route are already hanging through Bay Ridge, Sunset Park and Park Slope. Many people who live along the route say the event is something they look forward to every year.

Thousands of people will descend upon Brooklyn on Nov. 4 as they make a 26.2-mile trek through the five boroughs.
