U.N. marks 1st 'Day of the Girl'
The U.N. has declared today the first-ever "Day of the Girl," in order to raise awareness of the plight of young women everywhere. The Empire State Building was lit up in pink this morning in honor of the movement. Here in Brooklyn, the Young Women's Leadership School held an assembly to help young women learn about being leaders, taking action and using social media to impact other girls' lives.
