BK teen retires combat boots of fallen soldier
A Brooklyn teenager has retired the combat boots of a fallen soldier from The Bronx after two years of community service work.
Walter Wolford wore the boots every day for Private Isaac Cortes while he volunteered with a group of other teens as part of a program called "Step into their Boots."
Cortes was killed while serving in Iraq in 2007. His family will now keep the retired boots.
Wolford is following in Cortes' footsteps and will begin service with the Marine Corps on Monday.
