Coney Island family seeks justice in 2010 murder
A Coney Island family continues to seek justice nearly two years since their loved one was gunned down. The Velazquez family and other supporters gathered outside Kings County Supreme Court before another hearing in the murder case of 19-year-old Andrew Quinones. The Kings County District Attorney's Office says Quinones and his brother, Joshua Velazquez, were shot by a man who lived on their block in Coney Island back in November 2010. The accused murderer, 55-year-old Jose Acosta, has been awaiting trial at Riker's Island since his arrest. The Velazquez family says the courts still haven't given them closure in the case. The Kings County District Attorney's Office says it's not out of the ordinary for these cases to take so long.
