An international humanitarian organization has announced that it will offer $10 million to help Sandy victims by giving each person hundreds of dollars on debit cards.
Each eligible household in one section of Gerritsen Beach was given a pair of $300 Visa debit cards. The money was raised by donations collected by the Tzu Chi Organization.
Residents say they plan on using the much-needed assistance on food and property damage form the storm.
