Philly marathon opens slots for would-be NYC runners
The Philadelphia Marathon has opened an additional 3,000 slots for would-be New York City marathoners.
Officials say competitors who had signed up for the city marathon, which was canceled in the aftermath of Sandy, can enter a lottery to join the sold out race on Nov. 18.
Runners who are selected for the race will still have to pay the registration fee, but half of it will be donated to hurricane relief.
