Brooklyn non-profit scours city shores for animals in need

A Brooklyn-based non-profit group is going up and down the shorelines in all five boroughs looking for animals in need of help.

Guardians of Rescue in Brighton Beach is also going to the homes of people in evacuation zones who were unable to take their pets with them. They say first responders have their hands full with people, and so they're stepping in to save the animals.

Volunteers say they've rescued nearly 100 cats, dogs and even turtles since Hurricane Sandy hit.
