Four teens have been indicted and charged in connection to an attack outside of a Bensonhurst home on two members of the NYPD.
The incident happened on 15th Avenue back on Feb. 8 right after midnight.
Investigators say NYPD Detective Daniel Alessandrino heard a group of teenagers creating a disturbance outside of his home. He and his girlfriend, off-duty NYPD Officer Jaline Bernier, went outside.
Investigators say the pair asked the teens to leave the area and told them that they work for the NYPD. Officials say that's when the teens attacked both Alessandrino and Bernier. Both officers suffered severe injuries.
Joseph Nacmias, Jason Chalhon, Vito Morgera and Michael Peterson, all 17 years old and from Mill Basin, face various charges including assault, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.
The top charge in the indictment carries a penalty of seven years in prison.
