An elderly woman was run over and killed in Bensonhurst Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at the corner of Shore Parkway and 24th Avenue at around 11:30 a.m.
Officials say that the woman was run over by a 21-year-old woman backing up.
Damion Christangelo lives nearby and says that the incident was not surprising because drivers have turned the block into a danger zone.
It's unclear if speed played a factor in the accident, but police are investigating if it did.
News 12 reached out to the Department of Transportation, which said it will review the area for possible safety enhancements.
Officials have not said whether the driver will face any charges.
