American Pharoah seeks Triple Crown at Belmont Stakes

Thousands are expected at Belmont Park Saturday for the 147th running of the Belmont Stakes.

Many spectators are hoping to witness history as American Pharoah competes for the coveted Triple Crown.

The Belmont Stakes is a longer race than the Preakness and Kentucky Derby, which American Pharoah already won.

The last Triple Crown winner was in 1978. Thirteen horses have since tried for the title and failed.

Saturday's event will be American Pharoah's fourth race in eight weeks.
