A well-known Instagram comedy star from Brooklyn is becoming a social media sensation.

Majah Hype does everything from impersonations of various Caribbean characters to short skits. He says that he draws most of his comedy inspiration from Canarsie, the Brooklyn community where he grew up.

The former MTA driver says that he began recording comedy videos for Instagram when he got laid off by the MTA, and people took notice. He says that his videos have earned him a half-million followers on social media.

Hype says that he hopes to become a household name someday, but he will always remember where he started: Brooklyn.
