Vet offers pet tips for Fourth of July festivities
A veterinarian is offering tips about how to keep pets safe during the Fourth of July festivities.
"This is one of the times of the year where the most animals go missing because they'll hear these noises and they'll try to flee whether they are outside or whether they are inside," says Angela Hildenbrand, of the Park Slope Veterinary Center.
Hildenbrand says that not only do crowds and loud noise make animals anxious, some holiday foods can be deadly.
She says corncobs and chicken wing bones can give pets intestinal obstructions.
Hildenbrand says the best way to keep pets safe during the holiday is to keep them inside.
