Teacher accused of cutting student's hair
A 9-year-old girl says a teacher at the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in Downtown Brooklyn cut off 5 inches of her hair.
On June 19, Enyce Abner's relatives say the after-school teacher known as Ms. Fanta was walking down the hall playing with scissors, pretending to cut hair. They say that is when she mistakenly chopped off Abner's locks.
While the student says Fanta apologized, Abner's grandmother says she is shocked that someone would do something so unprofessional and irresponsible.
Abner's family says they hope that Fanta is arrested and never again employed by a school.
The family is also planning to sue the center and teacher.
The Boys & Girls Club says it is aware of the incident and suspended Fanta without pay pending further investigation.
