Low-cost therapy center looks to expand
A special-needs clinical center that has been operating for years under the radar in the Bronx is looking to expand its reach this summer.
Our Children First on Tremont Avenue is a multidisciplinary therapeutic center providing a range of services from speech pathology to special education for developmentally disabled children.
The center provides services to newborns and clients aged up to 21 years old. The center works alongside the Department of Health to provide low-cost programs, according to clinical director Kristen Bellom.
"We don't want any kids to slip by or slip through the cracks," Bellom says.
The center seeks to double the number of children that it can support a year and also create new programs.
