Recruitment centers boost security after TN shootings
The NYPD is stationing officers at military recruitment centers throughout the city in the wake of the deadly shootings at two sites Thursday in Tennessee.
Authorities say gunman Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez killed four Marines and wounded at least three other people at a recruitment center and another military site few miles apart in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Abdulazeez was killed after the shootings, which are being investigated as a case of domestic terrorism.
The NYPD has deployed critical response vehicles and officers at all military recruiting stations throughout the city and other sensitive locations. While they say there is no specific information regarding a plot against the city, officers will stand guard until more is learned about the Tennessee attack.
NYPD officials say they have been in regular contact with Tennessee authorities, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force and other agencies.
