Police: Man injured in Flatbush shooting

Police say a couple in Flatbush was shot at while walking down the street early this morning.

The incident occurred near Flatbush Avenue and Hubbard Place around 12:30 a.m.

Police say a man and his girlfriend were on their way to buy coffee at Dunkin' Donuts when they passed a double parked car on Hubbard Place.

Investigators say a man inside the car started yelling at them, pulled out a black gun and shot the man in the elbow. They say the suspect took off running.

The couple flagged down a van, and took it to Beth Israel Hospital in Manhattan.

Police describe the vehicle as a dark gray SUV minivan. They say the driver fled southeast on East 40th Street.

Officials are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
