1 dead, teen girl among injured in triple shooting

A shooting in Bushwick left a 53-year-old man dead and two other victims injured Tuesday morning, according to police.
Police say the shooting occurred Tuesday at around 8 a.m. when three men were trying to break into a car outside a mechanic shop on Grattan Street and Knickerbocker Avenue.
Michael Matusiak was among two employees of an auto body shop who came outside and saw the suspects, according to officials. He was shot and killed, and Derek Robinson, 57, was injured, police say.
Robinson was grazed by the bullet and is recovering, according to officials.
A 13-year-old girl was also shot in the hip while she was walking to school. She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital and is in serious condition.
"Right now we're trying to figure out what happened there after, but apparently five shots were fired, striking the one male fatally," says Robert Boyce, the NYPD chief of detectives.
Police have released surveillance video of the suspects, who Boyce says tried to break into multiple cars on the block.
Matusiak was engaged. His fiancee, Yvonne Carrasquillo, says they were to be married next year.
