Woman struck, killed by truck in Bed-Stuy

A woman was struck and killed by a truck on Lafayette Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant Tuesday morning.

Police say the 37-year-old victim, Latiesha Ramsey, was unconscious and had suffered severe trauma.

She was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to officials.

Witnesses say she was moving a cart full of clothes either to or from the laundromat when she was struck in the crosswalk at about 10:20 a.m.

Police say the 49-year-old driver remained at the scene and will likely not face any charges. The investigation is ongoing.
