OEM prepares for potential weekend snowstorm

The city's Office of Emergency Management is making final preparations for what may be the region's first major snowstorm this winter.
Meteorologists are tracking the storm ahead of its expected weekend approach. Forecasts predict coastal flooding and heavy winds, which could lead to power loss in some neighborhoods.
OEM officials say they're ready whether the storm hits New York hard or blows over. They're also asking New Yorkers to prepare to shelter at home with at least three days' worth of food and a fully stocked emergency kit in case of power outages.
They also suggest checking on elderly family members ahead of the storm to make sure they are prepared, too.
