Mother Nature aids in snow melting
Sunny skies and warmer daytime temperatures Wednesday helped melt snow left over from last weekend's blizzard.
Mother Nature helped free a number of vehicles that were still buried in snow following the storm.
Residents say the rapid thaw period compared with previous years has been a tremendous help.
The melting snow may have been a boon during the day, but it poses the risk of creating black ice at night when temperatures dip back below freezing.
The city has suspended its alternate-side parking rules while the Sanitation Department continues its snow removal. That suspension will continue through Saturday.
