Police: Woman stabs officer in Flatbush

A police officer was stabbed in an apartment building Monday in Flatbush, according to officials.

Police were called to a woman's fourth-floor apartment at 145 East 18th St. for a disturbance around 11:30 a.m. Investigators say she threatened the responding officers with a kitchen knife and stabbed one of the officers, an NYPD lieutenant, in the left arm.

The officer was transported to Kings County Hospital and released Monday afternoon.

Police arrested the woman, who they say is emotionally disturbed.

Neighbors say the 44-year-old woman moved into the building alone about a year ago.
