Police: Woman assaulted in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens
Police say a 72-year-old Brooklyn woman was assaulted in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens Sunday evening.
The woman, who is originally from Jamaica, says she was walking home near Flatbush Avenue and Caton Avenue from a gospel concert when she felt like someone pushed her. The next thing she remembers is waking up in the hospital.
She was released from Kings County Hospital at 6:30 a.m.
Police say the suspect ran away from the scene, and no arrests have been made yet.
"You should be ashamed of yourself to attack an old lady like that. They should really be ashamed of themselves," says the victim's granddaughter.
The victim says the incident is not going to keep her from walking around her neighborhood.
