Missing child found; police arrest, charge nanny
A child who was missing is back with her family, and police have arrested the toddler's nanny.
Nanny Fatima Alexander, of Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful imprisonment after investigators questioned her.
Police found Alexander, who is in her 50s, and 3-year-old Gabriella Russo in Manhattan after midnight on Wednesday. Gabriella was taken to a hospital to be checked and was determined to be in good condition, according to police.
Police had been searching for the missing girl and Alexander at Alexander's home and at a Manhattan day care center. Alexander was supposed to take Gabriella to day care after she picked Gabriella up from her Manhattan home, as she had done before, around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The day care center later called Gabriella's family when the girl still hadn't been dropped off.
