Nearly 1,000 NYC houses of worship raise mental health awareness

Nearly 1,000 houses of worship are participating in the city's first-ever Weekend of Faith for Mental Health, according to the mayor's office.
New York City First Lady Chirlane McCray visited several different congregations, including the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church in Clinton Hill.
McCray says clergy members are leaders who influence their communities.
She says it's why she thought houses of worship would be the perfect place to bring awareness to New Yorkers with mental illnesses.
