Police: Woman tried to abduct child in Bensonhurst
Police are looking for the woman who allegedly tried to abduct a child in Bensonhurst Saturday.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. on 80th Street at New Utrecht Avenue. Authorities say a woman was walking with her two daughters, ages 3 and 6, when another woman approached them. The suspect allegedly took the younger girl by the hand and walked a short distance away.
Police say the mother was able to retrieve the child and called 911. The suspect then fled.
The woman is described as 5 foot 2 inches tall and in her 30s. She was last seen wearing a red and white checkered shirt and jeans.
