Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Streets global street food
A Williamsburg restaurant offers a menu inspired by street foods from around the world.
Chef Roble Ali says customers at the restaurant, aptly named Streets, can find a huge selection all under one roof.
"Nobody's doing that in Brooklyn," Ali says. "And pretty much nobody in the city is doing that."
The menu ranges from Mexican street corn to African chicken wings to Trinidadian "doubles," which are curried chickpea sandwiches.
Doubles cook Sylvia Alexander even uses her family's authentic Trinidadian recipe.
"You can literally experiment with food you've never had before, and you feel like you have a taste of the culture from all of the world," says Jared Zuckerman, a food blogger who dined at the restaurant.
