Some Brooklyn students had a fun experience along the East River at Brooklyn Bridge Park today.
The young Brooklyn residents weren't just sailing any ordinary boats, but rather sailboats they crafted themselves.
The students spent their time as members of Brooklyn Boatworks, an educational boat-building program that serves students with in-school and after-school boat-building classes.
The students graduated from the program at Brooklyn Bridge Park and sailed their handcrafted boats for the first time today.
Every student expressed to News 12 how much they enjoyed their experience on the East River and that they felt the program taught them valuable life lessons.
