Brooklyn residents gathered at Borough Hall Tuesday to show support for the victims of this weekend's nightclub shooting in Orlando, Florida.

Officials left out sheets for residents to sign on tables around the building. They will later hang the signed sheets at Borough Hall.

Mourners stopped in to reflect on the mass shooting, which officials are calling the deadliest in modern U.S. history. As News 12 has reported, Omar Mateen, an American-born Muslim, opened fire at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando. He killed at least 49 people and injured more than 50 others.

Borough President Eric Adams says the goal is to let people express their feelings and to decry violence.
