Memorial service held to honor Afeni Shakur
A memorial service was held in Brooklyn Saturday to honor the late mother of iconic rapper Tupac Shakur.
Friends and family gathered at the House of the Lord Church on Atlantic Avenue to remember Afeni Shakur through live performances, music and speeches.
Shakur, a former member of the Black Panther Party, was remembered by the people who knew her as an inspirational leader, an intellectual and an artist.
She died on May 2 at the age of 69.
