A youth basketball tournament for teenagers was held Sunday in Bedford-Stuyvesant to honor the memory of the Notorious B.I.G.
The program called "Dream Big" was organized by the Christopher Wallace Foundation. This weekend was their annual two-day basketball tournament for 12 to 17-year-olds.
Organizers say the tournament creates a safe haven and also teaches the boys about health and fitness. It's also a way to keep the late rapper's name alive in his community.
"This is where he was born and raised," rapper Lil' Cease told News 12. "It's important for us to come back and bring something to the hood."
The rapper was killed by a drive-by shooter in 1997 while in Los Angeles. No arrests have been made.
