The city has settled a wrongful death lawsuit with the family of a Bronx man who was killed after being hit by a cop car in April 2012.
Tamon Robinson was being chased by police for stealing paving stones from the Bayview Houses in Canarsie.
When the incident happened, the official police accident report said that the accident was Robinson's fault. It said Robinson ran into the parked car, fell and hit his head. But according to Robinson's lawyers, multiple witnesses came forward saying the police car ran into Robinson.
The city has agreed to pay $2 million to Robinson's family.
The agreement is just for the civil case. The family wants the Brooklyn District Attorney to continue the criminal investigation in hopes of filing charges against the officer who was driving the car.
