Erasmus Hall student remains hospitalized after school stabbing

A 15-year-old Erasmus Hall High School student remains in the hospital this morning after being stabbed in the head with scissors yesterday.
According to authorities, another 16-year-old student at the High School for Service and Learning, which is located at Erasmus, has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
Police say it happened at around noon in the school gym following an altercation between the teenagers. They say the 16-year-old left, but then returned with the scissors and stabbed the younger student multiple times in the head.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital where he underwent surgery last night.
School officials say they are not sure how the scissors made it through the metal detectors students must walk through every time they enter the building.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
