Brooklyn teens have teamed up with local businesses in Crown Heights, decorating windows for the holidays for the Kingston Winter Windows project.
The project was organized by a Brooklyn youth group, whose coordinator Marlon Peterson, says the project promotes peace and takes a stance against gun violence. Storefront windows along Kingston Avenue were decorated by participants, and locals stopped by to admire and take pictures of their work.
"It makes me feel great," said participant Melissa Scott. "You gain a lot of self-confidence when you see the work you've put up and the things you've done."
