White powder causes hazmat scare in Dyker Heights
Workers at the Guardian Angel Home got quite a scare today after receiving a letter containing suspicious white powder.
Chopper 12 was over the scene this afternoon as hazmat and fire crews arrived on the scene.
Hazmat officials say five employees came into contact with the white powder and called police, believing that the substance was dangerous. Officials say the powder was deemed non-lethal.
The Angel Guardian Home helps place foster children in homes throughout the city. Children do not live at the home and were not exposed to the substance.
