Occupiers rally in East NY to support foreclosed families
Hundreds of people rallied in East New York today to show support for families in danger of foreclosure and eviction. A sea of people, many with the Occupy Wall Street movement, marched from foreclosed home to foreclosed home this afternoon. They say Brooklyn's homeless should be able to live in the vacant buildings.
Some of the demonstrators say they were among those in danger of being evicted.
Today's foreclosure march came as part of the Occupy movement's National Day of Action. Demonstrators staged rallies in more than 20 cities across the nation.
