FDR Drive bridge ramp to be changed
The Department of Transportation says it will make some changes to the FDR Drive near the entrance ramp to the Brooklyn Bridge.
The ramp, which is usually congested and prone to drivers cutting each other off to reach the bridge, will be slightly renovated to alleviate back-ups. The DOT says pavement markings will be repainted and the solid white line will be extended 200 feet, preventing cars from last-minute turns onto the ramp.
Some drivers say the improvements are overdue, but changing the lines might not stop other drivers from aggressively merging.
The DOT expects to finish the work by the end of this month.
