Brooklyn teacher killed in car crash

A Brooklyn teacher was killed over the weekend in a car crash on Staten Island.

Police say Lucia Negrete, who taught at Franklin K. Lane High School in Cypress Hills, was riding in a car Sunday with her boyfriend, who has been accused of drunken driving.

Students say Negrete was a beloved member of the school staff, an outstanding math teacher and an inspirational college adviser.

Negrete's boyfriend faces several criminal charges, police say.
