Police say a 25-year-old Greenpoint woman was sexually assaulted at her Diamond Street apartment early Tuesday morning.

The woman was dropped off by a cab a short walk from her apartment building after having a few drinks in Manhattan, authorities say. The woman says a man followed her up the steps to the building and forced himself on her.

Police say the man forced his way into the woman's apartment. Statistics from the 74th Precinct reveal only two rapes in Greenpoint in 2008 and one in 2009.
