Solider from Brooklyn killed in Afghanistan

(AP) - Military officials say a ninth FortCarson soldier died in Afghanistan over the weekend, though it'snot immediately clear whether he died in the same attack thatkilled the other Fort Carson soldiers.

The Department of Defense said Wednesday that 23-year-old Spc.Kevin O. Hill, of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Sunday at ContingencyOutpost Dehanna of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked. Hewas assigned to the 576th Mobility Augmentation Company based atFort Carson.

The Army post says he joined the Army on Sept. 16, 2008. He wassent to Iraq last February and served there until his unit wasrelocated to Afghanistan in April.
