Law enforcement agents have raided residences in New York City as part of an alleged terrorism investigation, and a re preparing to brief Congress about the investigation.

The strip of houses searched is located on 147th Street between Parsons Boulevard and 41st Street. There are several synagogues as well as a number of mosques in the area.

New York Police Department spokesman Paul Browne confirms that searches were conducted in the borough of Queens on Monday by agents of a joint terrorism task force. He would not discuss the matter further. Neither the FBI nor the NYPD will confirm the searches are tied to terrorism.
