BK riders irked by subway entrance closures

Brooklyn straphangers are calling on the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to reopen the subway entrances in Park Slope and Williamsburg that have been shuttered recently, forcing them to walk for blocks to catch their train.
MTA representatives say the agency closed the Montrose Avenue entrance to the Hewes Street station and the 9th Street station entrance due to security concerns.
"The 9th Street station [is] very crowded," says rider Walli Aboulig. "It would be easier for them to open this one so there would be less crowds."
The MTA says there are no immediate plans to reopen the entrances in question.
