Residents: DOT should improve road signs
Residents say they are confused by the sidewalk division at Pacific Street and Sixth Avenue, which the Department of Transportation set up during construction.
According to the DOT, the sidewalk has been divided for car use and pedestrian use while sewers are installed in the area. Residents say there are not enough signs to clearly indicate which side is for vehicles and many have walked in the wrong section.
Drivers in the area say there is little indication they should drive up on the sidewalk and the area should have construction personnel directing traffic. The DOT says the sidewalk will be used by cars for at least 12 weeks.
