A new government program is offering monetary incentives to get gas-guzzling cars off the road.
The "Cash for Clunkers" program pays drivers as much as $4,500 for turning in their old cars for more fuel-efficient vehicles. Some car dealers in Brooklyn are hopeful the incentive will bring customers into showrooms during the tough economy.
Officials say selling old cars will also help residents spend less at the pump.
