City: Job finding agency scammed hundreds
A Brooklyn agency that was supposed to help people find work, instead scammed hundreds of clients out of money by charging illegal fees and dipping into their wages, city officials say.
The city?s Department of Consumer Affairs says Dalia?s Service Agency committed job finder fraud. Last year, Dalia?s agency was investigated and fined by the city.
Dalia?s Service Agency is now forced to pay back all of its victims with a total of $83,000 going toward refunds for the job seekers hurt by the scam.
Anyone who believes they were scammed by Dalia?s since 2005 should call 311 or visit the consumer affairs Web site to see if they are eligible to get money back.
