Proposal may add photographs to parking tickets
A new proposal may give ticket agents a tool to justify parking tickets. Soon cameras could be used to document all offenses.
Council members are making a motion to give all agents their own camera in order to stop debate between offenders and the ticket giver.
Many Brooklyn residents say it's often the ticket agent's word against theirs and that many tickets are given to raise money for the city. But with the proposal, a photograph of the offense will be attached to the ticket.
"If there's a photograph, there's no question as to whether the ticket is legitimate or not," says Brooklyn Councilman Simcha Felder.
If the proposal gets enough support, council members say it will be proposed as a bill. If the bill is passed, they say it will cost the city about $25 million over seven years.
