Police: Cab driver killed in Sheepshead Bay
An off-duty livery cab driver was fatally shot in Sheepshead Bay early Thursday morning, police say.
According to investigators, 50-year-old Tamiz Din was shot in the chest and stomach at East 18th Street and Voorhies Avenue after parking his car at around 1 a.m.
Police have yet to make any arrests in the case, but Din's roommate and cousin, Sheikh Aziz, believes Din's aggressive ex-boyfriend is to blame. Aziz says he and his cousin had previously obtained an order of protection against the man.
"He said, 'I'm going to kill you' because he already tried to kill him," Aziz says.
Police have not disclosed whether Din's ex-boyfriend is a suspect in the crime.
